Women’s Worship and Prayer Night
Monday, April 27th • 7:30 p.m. @ Calvary
We'd like to invite all of Calvary's women to come and join us for this monthly time of worship and prayer.  Come spend some time listening to Jesus and praying for each other, our church and whatever else Jesus lays on our hearts.  Please talk to Erin Camponi if you have any questions.

Acts of Service Sunday!
Sunday, May 3rd  • 10:30 a.m. @ Calvary
Acts of service and kindness have a tremendous effect upon the people living in our communities.  Because of God's love for the people living in the Ritchie & Hazeldean communities, He has placed Calvary right in the middle of them!  Over the years as a church, we have looked for different ways to engage with and be a light to the people of these communities.  Again this year, one of those ways will be in participating in the annual garbage clean-up throughout the Mill Creek Ravine, then enjoying an awesome free BBQ at the Richie Hall directly afterwards.

We invite you to be a part of this with us!  We will be cancelling the 11:00 o'clock service on May 3rd in order to all go out together in this community endeavor.  It's "kid friendly," it's not too strenuous, and it gives us opportunity to interact with each other and various community people who will also be giving their time and energy to making this community more attractive.  Come and help Calvary leave a stronger imprint in the people and appearance of its surrounding neighborhood (gloves and bags provided).

Church Picnic Celebration!
Sunday, May 31st • 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. @ Emily Murphy Park
What do sack races, tug-of-wars, water-balloon volleyball, and the candy man all have in common.  They're all part of our church picnic fun!  All this, combined with a huge barbeque supper!  This event is a great opportunity to connect with your church family.  Please set this date on your calendars, and remember to invite your friends!!

'Art: Vocabulary of the Soul' Retreat
June 19 - 21 @ King's Fold Retreat Centre

‘Caring In Your Neighborhood’ Workshop
Sat., May 2nd • 8:30 a.m. – Noon @ Greenfield Community Church
This workshop will explore ways to build relationships with and care for our neighbors in meaningful ways.  The workshop will reflect and apply Scripture postures and practices that help us be loving and grace-filled, discovering God at work right where we live.  The workshop is led by Karen Wilk, who is the pastor of NEW (Neighbourhood Engagement Workers) Community in Edmonton.  Cost is $15/ person (inc. continental breakfast).  RSVP to:  office@greenfieldchurch.ca or phone 780-435-1060

Soccer Team Bottle Drive
Lindsay Ferradas’ soccer team is collecting bottles as a team fundraiser.  If anyone would like to contribute to her team with bottles, please bring them to her on Sunday morning, or notify her by telephone (780-474-0299).  Thank you!

‘Parents For Choice in Education’ Election Newsletter
The upcoming provincial election is dealing with many issues related to our day-to-day lives, significantly more than just taxes and our economy.  Many feel that it is essential that parental autonomy and freedom of religion should be raised as election issues.  Related to this is the recent passing of Bill 10, which imposes gay straight alliances in every school in Alberta, regardless of whether the school is Christian or public.  While Parents for Choice in Education (PCE) is not opposed to GSAs, Bill 10’s imposition of GSAs and other activities seems to violate parent’s rights and the freedom of religion.  To become informed of their perspective and concerns, you are encouraged to read the PCE newsletter by clicking here!

•   Pray concerning our upcoming Provincial Election, that the candidates who will best represent God’s values and principles and who will best serve our people with wisdom and integrity will be elected as Members of our Legislative Assembly.
