Belfast Festival of Learning Event.

To celebrate the Belfast Festival of Learning 2017, The MODERN (The Mobile & Digital E-learning project) multiplier has been confirmed to take place on the 23/3/17 in the East Belfast Enterprise Centre with a starting time of 2pm.

The event promises to an exciting, insightful and intriguing experience for all those teachers, trainers and lecturers with a keen interest on learning about intuitive and powerful tools for engaging students, how to improve digital literacy, and hearing about the latest innovations in teaching methods and pedagogy.

The project itself is based solely around mobile and digital learning, and the huge advantages that come with it. Surprisingly, 70% of educators recognise the importance of teaching in digital-supported ways, but only 20-25% of students are taught by digitally confident teachers.

Therefore, the aim of this project is quite simply to provide educators with a convenient and highly usable audit of the most innovative mobile learning tools available today, offer clear guidelines on which tool offers the best solution to achieving pedagogical objectives, and lastly, educate educators on innovative teaching methods and practices.

This event promises to be highly valuable for anyone involved in teaching/ training in vocational, adult and higher education or who works with external collaborators.

The Apprenticeship Alliances project is an EU funded project aimed at setting up support structures to assist SMEs to become apprentice employers. The project recognizes that today when SMEs face problems related to start up, innovation and growth, they can easily find help in intermediary organizations, such as Chambers of Commerce, Enterprise Agencies, Support offices in local authorities or Regional Economic Development agencies.

These organisations are staffed by highly professional business advisors, yet, apprenticeships are entirely missing from their service provision. The Apprenticeship Alliance project seeks to address this deficit.
