December 19, 2014

Dear Constituents,

The holiday season is upon us and our communities are aglow with the lights, events, and warmth of celebration. 2015 will kick off with a new City Budget cycle and local consultations. In the meantime, however, Ward 27's skating rinks are open, a major New Year's Eve celebration is being planned at Nathan Phillips Square, and family events are being hosted by our neighbourhoods. The City is here to help you enjoy the holidays and municipal staffs are available to help with snow clearing and all of your other seasonal needs.

The City's 311 service can be reached directly by dialling 3-1-1 or by emailing 311@toronto.ca. 311 staff will create work orders that can be tracked for municipal and infrastructure issues big and small – including road snow clearing, hydro, damaged trees, and other seasonal challenges. Heavy snow is expected around December 24th and should freezing rain occur, 311 is still the best resource to ensure you get the help you need.

For a full list of Toronto's many outdoor skating rinks, please visit the Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation page here. The City also hosts an online guide to the holiday season's many events that can be seen here.

Wishing you and your family all the warmth and laughter of the holiday season,

Kristyn Wong-Tam
