A Message from the BYHP Leadership Team

Dear BYHP Community,

It's the beginning of a new month and an opportunity to recommit to any resolutions you set in January. To make the most of your career and your engagement with BYHP, check out these great events we have coming up:

  • February 18th: We are hosting a "Meet Your Editor" event, so you can ask questions and get input from the BYHP Authorship Program editorial board.
  • February 25th: We are hosting our quarterly BYHP book club for members, where we will be discussing Crazy: A Father's Search Through America's Mental Health Madness by Pete Earley. You are welcome to participate even if you have not finished the book!
  • March 4th: We are kicking off a new Health Sector Deep Dive Series with a session on Health Venture Capital.
  • April 7th: We are partnering up with Work Wonder Careers to have a targeted workshop on How to Be Job Search Ready

Additionally, after a successful event with Heading Home, we want to encourage you to continue the IMPACT and volunteer to write a card with an uplifting message to be shared with the homeless and housing unstable Boston population.

As always, thank you for being a valued part of BYHP.

Warm Regards,
The BYHP Leadership Team

In line with Governor Baker’s phased approach to re-opening Massachusetts, BYHP continues to offer all of our programming online until it is safe for us to meet in-person.

BYHP Health IMPACT + Heading Home

During our interactive webinar with Heading Home, we learned that the Boston homeless community has been dealing with an unprecedented level of isolation. To make an IMPACT, we want to extend a fun and collaborative virtual volunteer opportunity to the entire BYHP network.

Follow the instructions and use the address in the attached PDF to write kind words of inspiration, cards with hopeful messages, and uplifting notes to send a message of connectedness and togetherness.

If you prefer not to write a card, or if you do write a card and still are looking for an additional way to give towards Boston's homeless, here is the link to Heading Home's Amazon Charity list with items most urgently needed at the two Emergency Overflow Shelters.
BYHP Authorship Program

At BYHP, not only are we able to connect healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds, but we also provide an opportunity for young thought leaders to share their insights regarding challenges and opportunities within the healthcare industry today.

BYHP members are invited to submit an article for publication on BYHP's website, which will be published in our newsletter and shared via social media.

This is an excellent opportunity to share your unique perspective on a healthcare topic with your peers across different healthcare sectors, expand your writing portfolio, and sharpen your writing skills.

Details:
  • We ask that your article be 500-800 words
  • Focus on any topic within the healthcare industry. Some potential topic areas include: Biotechnology, Healthcare Disparities, Healthcare IT, Healthcare Policy, Medical Devices, Mobile Health, Pharmaceuticals, and Public Health
  • Please send your submissions or questions to submissions@byhp.org.
  • Articles will be published on a rolling basis.
For more information, please visit our website or reach out to submissions@byhp.org
