Roller Skating in Physical Education: Mar 1

On Monday, March 1st and running through Friday, March 12th, Parkview students will be roller skating in their physical education class. Students should not bring rollerblades as Skateville will again be providing roller skates for the students. For your child’s added protection, we strongly encourage that they bring knee and elbow pads, wrist guards and a helmet. Please review your child's shoe size with them, as this will help them get into their skates and skating sooner.

Picture Retakes: Mar 4

Lifetouch will be back at Parkview on Thursday, March 4 to photograph any students that missed our first picture day. They will also retake photos for families that wish a second opportunity. Our Digital Academy students are invited to come to Parkview between 9:30AM and 12:30PM to be photographed.

Pre-order your photos if you would like to purchase a new package. See the brochure here, or go directly to the order page and use code EVTCDVHXT with the button below.

Board Members Needed for Next Year's Board

Do you want to make a difference at Parkview? Nominations for Board members will be open in the next month or so with elections taking place in May. There are several board members who will be "retiring" this year. Generally, board positions are held as a team of two thus having 8 board members. Board member meetings are held once a month with general PTO meetings being held on the second Tuesday of the month during the school year. We would love to have you join our next PTO meeting on March 9th to find out more. Here is a summary of the positions on the board:

President - coordinate the work of all the officers and committees so that the purpose of the organization is served. (Effort: year-round, on-going)

Vice President - The vice president shall assist the president and carry out the president’s duties in his or her absence or inability to serve. (Effort: year-round, time varies depending upon roles)

Secretary - The secretary shall keep all records of the organization, take and record minutes, prepare the agenda, handle correspondence, and send notices of meetings to the membership. The secretary also keeps a copy of the minute’s book, bylaws, rules, membership list, and any other necessary supplies, and brings them to meetings. (Effort: 3-4 hours per month, includes
attending meeting and typing up minutes)

Treasurer - The treasurer shall receive all funds of the organization, keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, and pay out funds in accordance with the approval of the Executive Board and Parkview Elementary PTO Financial Guidelines. He or she will present a financial statement at every meeting and at other times of the year when requested by the Executive Board and make a full report at the end of the year.
