From the Principal

Dear Parkview Families,

April is here and sunny spring weather is becoming more consistent. We continue to keep health and safety as top priority as we focus on social distancing, hand washing, and face coverings. When your child has symptoms, please do not send them to school, and if children demonstrate symptoms at school they will need to come home. We are working hard to ensure we can keep our school community healthy and safe during this pandemic.

We are starting to plan for next fall and registering new families and kindergarten students. If you have a kindergarten student that you need to register, please call the office or visit the Parkview website, https://pv.district196.org. If you have neighbors that may need to register, please encourage them to call the school, too.

If you know you are moving or changing schools, please call the office (952-431-8350) so we can work with you to support the transition process for your children.

Tomorrow, Friday, April 2, is a School Spirit Day! Please remind your child to wear their Parkview 50th Anniversary t-shirt!

Enjoy the beautiful weekend that is ahead!
Sincerely,
Nicole Garcia, Principal

Spirit Day: Tomorrow!

We will celebrate PV with another Spirit Day this Friday, April 2. Please wear the brightly colored PV shirts that everyone received recently (the t-shirts that say "50 years" in the middle of the paw print).

We are planning to get several pictures of students and staff in their shirts to include in our yearbook for the 50th Anniversary of Parkview.

CAHOOTS 2021 Summer Program: Due Tomorrow!

CAHOOTS math and language arts in one book … a great value!

Parents, Community Education is pleased to again be offering CAHOOTS, a K-5 summer math and language arts correspondence workbook program.

The program is portable, flexible and designed to closely match our district curriculum through an engaging and reflective approach to learning.  After completing each lesson and checking answers online, students complete an assignment reflection and send to a CAHOOTS Buddy who will send a written response back.

Cost is $43.  Final registration is due April 2.

To enroll, visit our website at https://district196.ce.eleyo.com and select appropriate grade level for fall 2021 (1-6; 1=entering 1st grade, 2=entering 2nd grade, etc.).
***Please review and update your address prior to placing your order.***

If you are unable to enroll online, please call our office at 651.423.7920 to register.

It is recommended students work on the grade level they will be entering in the fall (i.e. 1st grade is a review of kindergarten), to review and reinforce skills learned during the school year.  Please discuss with your child’s teacher, if you feel another level may be more suitable.

CAHOOTS should not be considered a replacement for participating in summer school, if your child qualifies.  CAHOOTS is not intended to replace regular reading for enjoyment or math activities that strengthen your child’s fluency and love for math.

Emergency Broadband Benefit Announced

The FCC recently added an Emergency Broadband Benefit to households that “receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision, or did so in the 2019-2020 school year." This may provide up to $50 for broadband internet per month. You can learn more information here: https://www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit
