Newly Announced

Students to Keep iPads/Hotspots Over the Summer

Students will again be allowed to keep their district-issued iPads and hotspots over the summer. This allows learning opportunities to continue throughout the summer.  Exceptions include students unenrolling from District 196.  For more details and guidance around this, please visit this website which can also be found in the About menu of the district’s website (  If you have questions, contact your child’s school or submit at

A few tips for parents:
  • Write down your student’s ID and universal password (password used for Collab/Schoology/SeeSaw) AND the passcode to unlock the iPad
  • Decide on a family plan regarding summer usage
  • If the iPad won’t be used during the summer, please store it in a safe location
  • If the iPad will be used during the summer, you may want to use Screen Time to set up Downtime and/or restrictions (directions will be on the iPad Technology site)

The Safe Learning Plan

The Safe Learning Plan is in effect until the last day of school. Under this plan, our current safety and mitigation measures will remain in place, including: students and staff continuing to wear masks in the building, social distancing as much as possible, and cleaning/sanitation measures. We are providing more opportunities during the day for students to take their masks off outside, if they choose, which has been wonderful to see more smiles in the sunshine!
