Recreation Master Plan draft
The City recently presented their Recreation Master Plan in a draft form, and they are welcoming feedback.
For a long-term solution for squash, we may well need support from the City. With that in mind, we are asking players if they would review the Recreation Master Plan draft (or just the overview or summary) and to provide feedback on their online page. Squash courts were still available locally when the draft was being developed, so the lack of facility for the sport isn't addressed...

The plan and overview can be found here  along with the link to the feedback page (

You might of course have thoughts on other aspects of the plan - if you have a chance to offer support for squash, that would be much appreciated.

Squash in town

We are looking at two potential timelines: (1) finding a solution for courts as soon as possible (2) building towards a sustainable and long-term solution for squash courts.

(1) may include: the courts at TRU, or building courts in any space with adequate height, or both
(2) is a longer term project, creating a facility that has a long-term sustainable future for the sport.

It's an ongoing work in progress - if you have any questions or would like to help in any way, send an email to
