Join us for our JUNE Spotlight Cabaret
"It's SHOWTIME - FIRST ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL VOCAL SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION" on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 8pm on the 3rd Floor of Allentown Brew Works. (Doors Open at 6:30PM - Dinner service will start at 6:30PM and will be suspended from 8PM - 9PM for the duration of the competition) $10.
Eleven talented high school vocalists from the Lehigh Valley will compete for a cash scholarship and other wonderful prizes donated by: Allentown Brew Works, Milk and Honey Kids, Elysian Fields Florist, Stone Soup Designs, The Hamilton Shop, MB Photography, Passionate Kisses Cakes and Catering, and more.
Contestants: JUNIORS: Kayleigh Downey (Bethlehem Catholic H.S.), Arissa Lahr (Nazareth H.S.), Alan Mendez (Salisbury H.S.), Emma Parrish (Nazareth H.S.), Vanessa Ruggiero (Nazareth H.S.), Jenna Sopko (Phillipsburg H.S.) SENIORS: Lana Brucker (LV Performing Arts H.S.), Robert Gallagher (Parkland H.S.), Thomas Kennebeck (Notre Dame H.S.), Grace Martin (LV Performing Arts H.S.), Ryan Skerchak (Nazareth H.S.)
Each contestants will be adjudicated by our three qualified and experienced judges:
STAN DUNN:
an opera vocalist who has worked with Placido Domingo, Marni Nixon, and Baayork Lee in venues such as The Washington Opera/Kennedy Center, Arena Stage & Paper Mill Playhouse.
GRETE MILLER:
an actress and filmmaker in NYC who is a graduate of AMDA and the New School. Grete is an accomplished screenwriter, film director, and actress. She has worked in association with some of the film industry's greats including Shimon Dotan, MM Serra, Flavia Fontes, and Melissa Friedling.
BART SHATTO:
an actor who has appeared on Broadway as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, in the original company of Civil War on Broadway and around the country, at the Paper Mill Playhouse and is a featured singer with the Tran-Siberian Orchestra.
As always after our contestants & featured performers we will open the floor and microphone up to our guests at our open mic portion of the evening. We have more than thirty songbooks to choose from or you can bring your own sheet music. We will also have a 50/50 raffle to raise money to support our special programs designed to help children with autism and special needs through music, drama, and dance.
