Welcome SOTD Operations Manager, Doug Ace!

Doug has had an interest in the arts ever since he was a child. After watching sketch comedy shows like Kids in the Hall andSaturday Night Live, he knew that theater and entertainment were in his future. He joined chorus in the fourth grade and developed a love for vocal performance. Doug majored in History at Kutztown University, then went out into the world and held a variety of professions from telecommunications installer to hiking trail maintenance to marketing manager for a home improvement company. He looks forward to using all of the skills he has learned as the new Operations Manager for Star of the Day Event Productions.

As a performer, Doug has participated in a variety of shows and productions starting in middle school. After moving to the Lehigh Valley in August 2011, Doug has taken steps to become more involved in the local theater scene. In March 2012, he played Jimmy Smith in Thoroughly Modern Millie at the PA Playhouse. He also made his debut with the Third Mask Theatre troupe in the ensemble of Stephen Sondheim's Assassins. Doug made his official debut as a performer with Star of the Day in January singing in the Cabaret on Main.

With more opportunities in the future, Doug is extremely excited to continue his relationship with Star of the Day. As Operations Manager he will take over more and more tasks for Kirsten with the goal of being able to run the show allowing Kirsten to focus on the big picture. Look for him as a performer in cabarets, Poppy and the Magic Tutu, and in a variety of theme shows put on by Star of the Day.

What the BLOG is that?

Hey everyone.  Star of the Day has a new blog...SOUL MUSIC.  One of our missions is to encourage both performer and community alike through music, theater, and dance.  Our blog is being written to help people understand the business of performing.  Whether it be mentally preparing for a role or dressing to the 9s to rock out, everything a performer does has a REASON, PURPOSE and STRATEGY.  So follow our blog, share it, and comment.  AND if you have something to share, contact STAR OF THE DAY to become a blog contributor.
