Top Down Basic Socks
A series of three classes: Sunday October 18, November 8 and 15. 2-4p m
$45
Teacher: Alissa
Learn to knit socks in the traditional manner, starting with the cuff and working down to your toes. Perfect for first time sock knitters or anyone wanting a refresher.
Butterfly Girl: A Taste of Art Yarns
November 1, 1-3pm -
Wheels only – 2 hours
Class limit 5
Cost: $30
-          Intermediate – Must know how to use your wheel and must have some experience with spinning and plying
-          This class will give you a taste of how to spin art yarns based upon a “Thick and Thin” technique.  Remember your first yarn, how it was lumpy bumpy and had big fat parts and tiny thin parts with lots of character and texture?  In this class you will learn how to spin that type of yarn deliberately and then we will look at ways to ply a thick and thin yarn to achieve various textures and effects.
-          Would be best if student has jumbo flyer with a large orifice for one of the techniques (however, there are workarounds that we can do if necessary, so don’t let this keep you from taking the class)
-          Student should bring 6-8 ounces of fiber to class.  Students will need to bring a heavy thread/laceweight yarn to class (no fuzzy yarns or sewing thread)
-          Student will need to have enough empty bobbins to spin and ply or be able to quickly wind off or skein completed yarns.  Student will need to bring lazy kate  and niddy noddy if available(We will have some lazy kates available, but if you have one, please bring it as we may not have enough for the whole class).

Annual Holiday Hideaway
Hide from the Black Friday madness and come in for a quiet day at Knitting Fairy. No crazy sales, no crush of people at the door waiting to get in at 3am. Just the quiet, relaxing atmosphere you've come to expect at Knitting Fairy. Come sit and knit or crochet or whatever other project you need to work on and enjoy the conversation. There will, of course, be fresh cookies baking.

So come join us and relax away from the craziness on November 27th. (Knitting Fairy will, of course, be closed on Thanksgiving Day.)

Knit along with us as we make this lovely fingering weight cardigan.  We have some fantastic yarns in stock from which to choose - take a look at Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere for real luxury or Cascade Heritage for a great sweater for work.  Japanese for "With a single brushstroke" this cardigan is knitting in one piece, the final bind-off is the only place you have to cut your yarn.  What really makes it shine is the blocking, which we will, of course, be covering in class.
