Dear friends and colleagues,
Hoping you are having a wonderful beginning of the year and have been diving into 2015 like the first gleeful dip into that fresh new jar of peanut butter! (or something like that.)
First of all, let me just say to any of you who received postcards saying I will be guest-starring on WORKAHOLICS in January, they are now all erroneous, as my episode has been moved mid-February. More on that as I know more. Also coming: more about the filming of AVENGING ANGEL and the release of THE RED THUNDER...
As I wait for NDAs on recent projects this year to be lifted, I'll take this moment to share a cool project I did last year.
Introducing LIMBO, a stylized action short, created by Tony Aaron II, for this year's Project Greenlight. Starring Gil Darnell, Brianna Brown, Jonno Roberts and myself.
Tony Aaron II is a really talented up-and-coming filmmaker and I wanted to give him some buzz. The proud owner of a Red Epic Dragon camera, Tony has recently finished 3 short films, a dramatic feature film and a thriller webseries - CRACKERJACK - (in which I play a lead) soon to be released.
I love working with Tony because his take on things is always so distinct and his creative choices always catch me off-guard in a wonderful way. When Tony cast me as the female villain in LIMBO, he sent me this description of what he was looking for in the character:
"Hairstyle to be slightly inspired by the Hunger Games character, Effie. Cadence to be slightly inspired by the Harry Potter character, Delores Umbrage. Tone and accent/delivery to be slightly inspired by Maleficent's evil moments."
...and I threw in a little bit of Cruella DeVille on my own.
And here is the result...
(it has more of an epic quality if you watch it full screen).
Looking forward to sharing more fun stuff as the year unfolds, and sending you my heartfelt support and enthusiasm for all of your upcoming creative endeavors, dreams, and adventures in this fresh new year!
