Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Wanted to let you know that LIE WITH ME is officially out in theaters this month.
In this film, I played a mother from Northern Ireland dying of cancer. A heavy but rich role to explore... particularly poignant, as my own mother passed away from cancer 14 years ago... Also to get a deeper sense of this character's roots, and hone her regional accent, I watched and re-watched a myriad of superb and stirring films from Northern Ireland. A few of my favs now are Some Mother's Son, Omagh and of course, In The Name of the Father... All highly recommended. And, I'm also quite grateful to a few extremely patient Irish friends who took the time to listen to me babble on to make sure I didn't butcher their beautiful dialect... I still owe them quite a few more pints of Guinness, I believe...
And what a pleasure yet again to work with another cast of crazy-talented actors who all gave such beautiful, nuanced performances.
As always...so very grateful (and a little in awe) to be spending my life doing what I love and working with so many compelling, passionate and truly wonderful people day in and day out...
My continued appreciation to all of you receiving this for being somehow part of this crazy ride together... and sending you my heartfelt support for all your projects and dreams...
With warmest regards,
P.S. ~ Here are a couple of set stills from the production. :)
(when I sent one to my father at the time, he forgot I was filming and thought I was actually sick!)
