Success stories from the field

Sandra Schubert, M.D., of Superior Med in Cambridge believes the electronic transmission of health information helps her keep right on top of her patients’ care when and where they need it. That’s because the information comes to her when and where she needs it.

Even when a patient ends up in the hospital without her knowledge.

Attention CliniSync Clients: Internet Explorer Changes

Microsoft has announced that as of January 12, 2016, only the most current version of Internet Explorer available for a supported operating system will receive technical support and security updates. To ensure data security, we strongly encourage clients to update their browser today to IE v11.

Our technology vendor, Medicity, is providing you with this notification. Because Microsoft will not be pushing out any security or non-security updates to unsupported versions, the Medicity browser policy has been updated to state that we will only support IE 11 on Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1. While we will be providing a six-month grace period to our clients, we cannot guarantee 100 percent support for issues that occur within the unsupported IE applications during that timeframe if the issues are within the IE products themselves.

Ensuring our customers’ data security is our number one priority at Medicity. Please update your browser today.Medicity OS and Browser Support Policy effective July 15, 2016

OAFP has hypertension module

The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians is excited to announce the creation of an online data collection module focused on hypertension management to assist family physicians in the execution of a systematic, quality improvement (QI) initiative focused on improving the care of patients diagnosed with hypertension.

As of Friday, January 1, 2016, OAFP members will have the opportunity to participate in the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) approved module to fulfill Part IV requirements for Maintenance of Certification for Family Physicians (MC-FP) and earn American Academy of Family Physicians Performance Improvement in Practice credits.

This hypertension QI module aligns with the 2014 Evidence-Based Guideline for the Management of High Blood Pressure in Adults, a report from the panel members appointed to the Eighth Joint National Committee (JNC8).
Participants in this module will:
  1. Reflect upon the importance of practice team engagement to manage patients diagnosed with hypertension
  2. Determine the gaps in the care that is currently being provided to patients diagnosed with hypertension
  3. Put interventions into practice, work for improvement in hypertension care management
  4. Demonstrate improvements in patient care as a result of systems changes identified through quality improvement initiatives.
This program will guide you through three phases to achieve these goals. A pre-assessment phase, including evaluating your current practice’s care delivery and selecting a plan for improvement; an action phase, the point at which you put your plan into action for a minimum of three months; and a post-assessment phase, including analysis of data, reflection on successes and challenges incurred, and evaluation of the program.

Learn more about completing the hypertension module or view the tutorial video. For more information, visit the OAFP website, contact Director of Performance Improvement Erin Jech, or call 800.742.7327.
