Cruise Boat Development? Not!
We lead our morning emails with news from around the Internet, grapevine items, opinion, and stuff that's too racy to print on the website and exclusive to this daily email. The San Angelo LIVE! Daily Email is delivered Monday through Saturday and is read by more people each day than the local newspaper.
Cruise Boat Warrior Cut Out of Mary Lee Park Development. State of the Division reports that Concho Cruises was eliminated from consideration in its proposal to develop Mary Lee Park. You may recall Concho Cruises, whose representative urged city council to shut down the competing little steamboat operator at Lake Nasworthy in the opening salvos of the Cruise Boat War of 2014? Anyway. SoD suggests that local money is not wanted for the Nasworthy development initiative, and according to SoD, the vote to approve the consent agenda today will kill Concho Cruise's dreams forever. More at State of the Division.
Uber Eyes Midland. "The popular Uber car service is exploring the Tall City as possible new place to call home. Midland, Texas, is now listed under cities on the Uber car service website. Right now, it seems they're riding under the radar but if popularity grows, city officials say they should come together." More at Newschannel10.
Rock the Desert set up begins. " Tents were erected, trailers were moved into place, and the bang of hammers followed by the buzzing sound of power drills were just some of the sights and sounds off of FM 1788 [Odessa) on Monday as crews set up for the annual Rock the Desert festival. Rock the Desert is a four day concert/fellowship event in its 16th year designed to bring Christians from across the country together. More at Odessa-American.
Seven-Year-Old Killed in Abilene Crash. "The accident involving an SUV happened at 6:21 a.m. on Westlake Road near Lake Fort Phantom. At least six people were in the SUV. Four ambulances were seen leaving the scene." More at KTXS.
Paul Newman's Family Feud. "When Paul Newman died, in 2008, he left his Newman’s Own food empire, and the charitable foundation it supports, in the hands of his adviser Robert Forrester. But, his eldest daughter says the family believes their father’s principles are being betrayed." More at Vanity Fair.
