The new Republican Majority is making our priorities clear. In this week alone, we voted to pass two strong pro-life initiatives: a resolution condemning recent attacks on pro-life facilities, groups, and churches, as well as the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act. As a father, uncle, and unapologetically pro-life American, I firmly believe nothing is more important than protecting the most vulnerable among us — the unborn.

He’s got a quintessential Texas attitude – work hard, think big, don’t let anyone fence the music in. Grant Gilbert is a young, hustling front man for a five-piece band, an ensemble that embodies the spirit of the Lubbock musicians who’ve preceded it. Like Buddy Holly, Waylon Jennings, Josh Abbott Band and Dixie Chicks, Gilbert is ostensibly country, but really so much more. Classic rock, the blues, Southern rock and – yes, country – are all ingrained in an energetic, powerful package that’s become a major part of the club circuit.

It is with incalculable sorrow that we announce the death of Jerrell Ray Preas, known to most as “Jerry”. He was born on September 6, 1955 in San Angelo and passed away on December 29, 2022 at age 67 after a wearying battle with prostate cancer.
As a youth, his family was in the Air Force. If you hung around Dad for very long, you’d hear hilarious stories of winters in Cape Cod, bicycle-riding in Niagra Falls, and bowling in Japan. He entered the Air Force too, and served 4 years as a mechanic, working on C130s. He was a proud American to the very core.
