New Website Goes Live

There has been a revolution in the online world of CuriousWorks.

Today, we officially launch our new website that looks more exciting, makes it easier for you to explore ‘Another Australia’ and is a better showcase for the films, theatre and digital art we are producing.

So if you have ever puzzled what a Curious Creator is, why CuriousWorks is necessary, or wondered what it would be like to explore our work through a visual gallery, this might help. Go and discover, curious folk.

CuriousWorks … Our Life in 4 Minutes

As part of designing our new web content, we set a couple of the aspiring storytellers from our Curious Creators program a challenge – explain what value the company adds to the world in under four minutes.

After an initial shrugging of shoulders, awkward silence and mischievous suggestion that it would only take four seconds, Adam McPhilbin and Shawn Spina shot and edited this short video under the mentoring guidance of Guido Gonzalez. We think they nailed it!

ReFill is Back

CuriousWorks first crossed creative paths with Miller Technology High School in 2008, and we have recently rekindled that relationship by setting out on a new two-year ReFill journey of creative workshops.

Our artists will be mentoring students in writing, recording and producing music, performance and drama, video-making, new media technologies and traditional visual arts.

The program specifically focuses on engaging indigenous students and others from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, including young people who have recently settled in Australia.

Guido Gains Western Sydney Arts Role

Congratulations to our CuriousWorks filmmaker and Cultural Leader Guido Gonzalez who has just added to his commitment to the arts in south-western Sydney with a new role at Fairfield City Council.

He has been appointed to the Arts Advisory Committee which counsels the council on the funding and promotion of arts and cultural opportunities in the local area.

Don’t worry, he’s not leaving us. If you want to know more about Guido, check out his bio here.
