Dear <<First Name>>,

A big thank you to Brian and his team from Swansea Harriers for making the final Gwent League happen, and to Derek and Russ for ensuring that junior medals were presented promptly.

Uncollected Junior Medals And League T-Shirts

The following junior medals weren't collected on the day (NB they aren't labelled male/female, and we didn't note what was collected, so each may be for either sex): 4th U11 (claimed), 5th U13, 3rd U13, 4th U15 x2, 5th U15, 3rd U17 team (x5), 3rd U20 team (x4)

Derek is looking after these, and will bring them along to the AGM and first fixture next season, or you can collect them from Brecon.  Derek also has the League T-Shirts, for collection similarly.

Ordering More Medals

The league proves 6 medals for each U11, U13 and U15 team, 5 for U17s and 4 for U20s.  However, if you feel that more than this number of athletes contributed to your team's achievement over the winter, you can order more.

Please let Russell know what you want by Sunday, 3rd April so we can add them to a league order.  Additional medals cost £5 each (payment as below but reference 'Medals' and copy in Roland and Russ).

Equal on Points and Mistake on the Day

The league rules state that, in the event of a tie on points, the relative position in the final fixture splits the tie.  However, with athletes absent at this fixture due to the clash, this may not have been appropriate in some cases.

If you feel that an athlete unfairly missed out on a better medal after tying on points, please write to me by Friday 1st April, and (if we agree) we'll order an upgrade at our expense (no, we won't ask for the awarded medals back).

We know of one mistake in presenting awards: In the U13 girls team, Cardiff AAC received bronze medals which should have been silver.  The league will order 6 upgrade silver medals for Cardiff (existing medals don't need to be returned).

I'll update numbers participating tomorrow (Saturday) morning, and will email out separately about payments for the season as a whole, but as always, you can pay by:
•    BACS (Gwent Cross Country League, Sort 51-61-15, A/C, 11023775, Nat West, Reference <Club Name> FEES). Please send a confirmation email (including club name and amount paid) to
•    Cheque by post to Roland Sherwood, Glenside, Clarbeston Road, Pembrokeshire SA63 4SD.  If not drawn from a club account, please write the  club name on the back.
