President's Note

Dear Friends,

A hearty welcome to our Newsletter. I read once that life is defined by two dates, the day we are born, and the day we discovered the purpose for us to have been born. I believe that for those of us involved in monorail  technology, we passionately stand for providing affordable transportation solutions to communities around the world.
As another Monorailex Conference came to an end on October 2013 in Colorful Daegu, Korea, we realized that this was the perfect forum to share time with likeminded colleagues and to see state of the art systems design and operations. For those of you who didn’t attend, we invite you to learn more from our website, or enquire to any of us in the Executive Council about our future program in Wuppertal, Germany in September 2014, timed so that you can also attend InnoTrans at the end of our program.
We look forward to meeting all of you in Wuppertal, the site of the 113 years old suspended monorail, still in operations today. We are planning on having a conference dedicated to Operational Safety Requirements for Elevated and Automated Monorail Systems.

Come and join the International Monorail Association (IMA), where we are developing and sharing the lessons learned of this century's public transportation system. You can see below under 'Monorail Highlights' the increased demand for monorail construction. I welcome you to contact me.

On behalf of the Executive Council,

Carlos Banchik, P.E.
