Quiet News
Another busy summer draws to a close. And what a summer! Weather wise it has been the best summer since 1996.
Work has begun on bringing electric hook ups to the last 18 pitches across the top of the park. We will start 2015 with electric hook ups on every pitch.
We are also upgrading another 10 pitches to be fully serviced in time for the Christmas holidays.
All our pitches are fully bookable up to a year in advance so there is no need to be disappointed by not getting 'in' at The Quiet Site!
Having been awarded as Cumbria's most sustainable tourist business this year we now go forward to represent Cumbria at the National Tourism Awards early in 2015. Wish us luck!
There are a few changes to the structure of our tariff in 2015:
- The base pitch price will now include 2 adults and all children up to the age of 11 years (instead of 6 years)
- This base pitch price will still include electric, but only up to 10KWh per night. If you use more than this (ie if you choose to leave electric heaters on for long periods etc) you will need to pay the excess over 10 KWh, charged at our standard rate, currently 15p/KWh. The average electricity use this year has been less than 10 KWh.
- We have increased the pensioner, single occupancy and 'no car' discounts to £5 per pitch per night.

Horse of the Year Show

George and Corky have qualified to compete at the worlds greatest horse show this year! They have had an outstanding first year together having won the Eventer's Gold Cup and the Champion of Champions at the BSPS summer championships. They had an unlucky pole at the Royal international.
Sadly George broke his leg last week so his sister Millie stands in for the ride. Millie and George help out at The Quiet Site during school holidays. The Quiet Site helps out with the cost of horse rugs and transport. Again, fingers and hooves crossed!
...and pony rides..
If you have a young child who would be interested in having a ride on one of the Quiet ponies please let us know before you arrive - we will try and arrange for a pony to visit at the same time as you!
