The Quiet News

Summer 2016

The wettest winter on record seems like a long long time ago now...
Pooley has its Bridge again, our Hobbits have their holes and the Olympic medal fest is nearly over, so all is well with the world.

Just two weeks left of the school holidays so fingers crossed the weather stays bright.
We have no Camping Pod or Hobbit Hole accommodation available until 4th September.  Limited Camping and Touring pitches available midweek until September when we have room again..!

Lots of Music and Magic in the bar still left for this summer. Lewis the magician will join us on August 24th, 28th and 31st. Music in the bar includes Boogie Woogie Will on 21st August, Quiet George on 22nd August and Pete Lashley on 27th August.

  Hobbit Holes

The first six hobbit holes have proved to be very popular.  The first vacancies for these underground holiday accommodations are on 4th September.
The Hobbit Holes are dog friendly. They have a really nice ensuite WC so those midnight walks to the service block are a thing of the past..!  The views from the round windows are, as you will see from the photo, some of the best that  The Quiet Site offers.

Don't forget that 22nd Sptember is international Hobbit day as it is Bilbo's and Frodo's birthdays!

Phase two of our Hobbit Hole development starts later in September.

The Ullswater Way

After much work by the Ullswater Association, a network of existing footpaths are now linked and signposted to form a complete walk around Ullswater, arguably England's most beautiful lake. This network is called The Ullswater Way and is fast becoming one of the 'must do' walks in the UK.   The route passes right by The Quiet Site and are happy to provide overnight accommodation and/or parking to anyone who wants to break the 20 mile walk into two halves.

We are looking forward to the next VW weekend in November.  Live music, a good bar and lots of VW's will again set the scene. These weekends are always fully booked so book early to get your pitch!
