Super PAC Behind BEAT LAMAR Launches
BEAT JIM COOPER, Endorses Bob Ries.
Spring Hill, TN--The Real Conservatives National Committee, the Spring Hill, Tennessee Super PAC behind the BEAT LAMAR project, announced today that is launching a new major project, BEAT JIM COOPER, and is endorsing Bob Ries, the Republican nominee who is challenging Representative Cooper (D-TN) in the Fifth Congressional District general election this November.
Michael Patrick Leahy, who organized both the BEAT LAMAR and the BEAT JIM COOPER projects, said "Jim Cooper is an Obama supporting Democrat who has represented Tennessee's Fifth Congressional District for far too long. Congressman Cooper provided the key vote that moved Obamacare out of a critical committee. Congressman Cooper supports amnesty, just like Lamar Alexander."
The decision to endorse Bob Ries, the winner of the August 7th Republican Congressional primary in the 5th District, was made after more than a dozen BEAT LAMAR college students vetted Mr. Ries in an informal but hard hitting question and answer session held on Saturday.
According to Leahy, "Bob Ries came through that vetting with flying colors. The BEAT LAMAR college students who questioned Mr. Ries unanimously recommended that the BEAT JIM COOPER project endorse him."
"Bob Ries opposes amnesty and supports the repeal and defunding of Obamacare," Leahy said. "Our college student canvassers," Leahy added, "were particularly impressed with Mr. Reis's plan to save Social Security for their generation. They felt this was a key selling point they could use to persuade young people to vote for Bob Ries."
"We knocked on 70,000 doors in Joe Carr's strong challenge to Lamar Alexander in the BEAT LAMAR project," Leahy said. "12,000 of those doors were in the 5th Congressional District. Our goal is to knock on 50,000 doors in the 5th Congressional District before the November election to support Bob Ries."
