I had a dream a few months ago...

There was a large field filled with rubble and layers upon layers of trash and devastation. There was a man walking atop the junk sowing seeds until the whole field of rubble was covered. Most of the seeds sat on top of the rubble but a few made their way through the gaps and crevices to the soil below. Over the years as the rain came down, more and more seeds that were sown made their way down and embedded themselves in the earth. Somehow life sprang forth from death and a forest pushed it's way upward, pushing aside all the rubble and filling the field with new life until all that was left was beauty and glory.

I realized this is the story of redemption... This is why Jesus came...

He came to sow seeds of truth and grace into our lives so devastated by the systemic wreckage of sin and death. He came to plant new life and sends His Spirt to water us and grow us into oak trees of righteousness (Is. 61:3) which push through all the rubble in our stories that have kept us from the warmth of the sun for so long... As we grow through our mess, the imperishable seed of the good news of God's grace cleans us and new creation ever breaks forth.

This is why we as God's people must show up in places of devastation to share the good news of the new creation hope we have in Jesus.

In all our own brokenness and struggles, somehow, as we show up in the lives of other struggling sojourners, and as we fix our eyes together on Jesus, we help each other break through toward the sun and push aside the sin weighing us down that seeks to keep us from being the new creations we actually are in Christ.

The New is coming... It's already here

May 2018 be a year where seeds of life fall on good soil and push their way upward toward the sun in splendor and glory... We love you all and are thankful for your prayers and support in 2017 and look forward to the new things springing forth in 2018.

In Christ,

Pray for us
Every day is a battle in our own hearts and around us. Pray for peace in our home and for that to overflow to our neighbors, community and city. This is where it must start.

We are planting Shalom City Church and also are involved in a community development work called Restore Life. Restore life has had a hard year financially so we ask all year end gifts to be directed here.

Our Church's third annual Christmas gift outreach. It was a glorious day of celebrating the gift of Jesus and helping parents get gifts for their kids. Learn more about this here.
