Free Local Beer & Cheese
Join us on July 15th from 5 to 7pm, when Sacramento's Track 7 Brewing Co. will pour tastes and we'll offer samples of perfect cheese pairings. During the event, we'll also have a special Track 7 keg on tap in our Deli. Don't miss it! 21+, flagstone patio only. Keep an eye on our Events Calendar for other free classes. On the horizon: Cold Brew, Salads, and Quick Pickles!
Our Co-op Commitment
Raptors and water conservation are big focuses at the Co-op this summer. Join us July 8th at 11:30am as we accept an Owl-Wise Leader award with our new landscaping as a work-in-progress backdrop.
Facebook Giveaways
Want in on the (more or less) weekly action? Like our Facebook page, and you'll have a chance to enter to win one of our fabulous packages. We use Facebook to get the word out about pop-up classes and communicate opportunities to our fellow co-operators. Get connected today!
Match The Ink To The Manager!
Can you tell who this mysterious Buddha belongs to? Read up on our Management Team and send your best guess to! One entry per person, please. We'll draw a winner from the correct guesses, and announce the answer in the August Vine.
Proudly Introducing... Gomez Farm!
Recently, our Produce Department worked out an arrangement with up-and-coming Gomez Farm that we're pretty psyched about. Too small to deliver to us, they agreed to let us fetch their luscious purple garlic, purple majesty potatoes, and zucchini grown on their certified organic acreage in Winters. Soon we'll be featuring their melons, thanks to an in-Davis drop site. Look for those hyper-local treasures alongside items from established farms like Full Belly (field shot above). Our commitment to the organic trade movement and to the success of young farmers is sweet, indeed!
Heirlooms, Mangoes, Greens!
Don't miss juicy tomatoes from Terra Firma Farm, and this week's smash sale: Organic Girl greens, 2 for $5! (Pro tip: the Sweet Pea Greens take salad to the next level.) We work hard to get the best produce and fresh flavors at low prices. Get on our email list for Weekly Specials every Wednesday:
Welcome Kim, Sandra, Errol and Dana!
In June, Member-Owners elected Kim Coontz (pictured), Errol Dauis, Sandra Schickele and Dana Marsh to the Board of Directors. Doug Walter will serve as First Alternate. Thank you for voting! We enjoyed an 8% voter turnout (5% is considered awesome for our size). July 11 at 6:30pm is the next Board Meeting. We'll bid a fond farewell to Board President Ben Pearl, VP Diane Parro, and DFC staff Director Vincent Ortiz. All Co-op Members are invited to attend.
