Growing Bolder

“The Jersey Boys,” as they call themselves, say they’re powered by passion — and a love of walking on water.

This group of barefoot water skiiers includes a retired medical oncologist, family physician, railroad worker and master plumber, ranging in age from mid-50s to late-70s.
Their backgrounds are varied but their goal is the same: to keep Growing Bolder. Sure, they admit that sometimes their crashes are as spectacular as the water skiing itself, but that's part of the fun!

Speaking of athletes, our own Wendy Chioji has two new updates on her blog, including some hopeful news about her ongoing cancer battle (read more here) and her continuing quest to defy the odds, to challenge herself, and to say yes to life. In "This One's About the Capital A," see how Wendy -- a six-time Ironman triathlete -- is getting back on the bike to make relentless forward progress. Does that phrase sound familiar? Meet fellow cancer warrior and Mount Kilimanjaro climber Jeremy Jungling, who inspires all of us to keep Growing Bolder.
On June 6, 1944, 160,000 Allied troops invaded a 50-mile stretch of coastline in Normandy, France, launching a ground assault against Nazi troops in continental Europe. It’s still considered one of the greatest military operations in history. The cost of D-Day was high, though: more than 9,000 troops were killed or injured in that single day.

U.S. Army Major General John Raaen described his “unbelievable” experiences on Omaha Beach with Growing Bolder, and explained and why most of them never expected to come home, even though they were going to give it their best try. Major General Raaen is still alive and still telling this important story, and we're proud to share it with you this week.
