We were among the shocked when actor Tom Hanks recently announced he has Type 2 diabetes. During an interview with David Letterman, Hanks said, "I went to the doctor and he said, 'You know those high blood sugar numbers you've been dealing with since you were 36? Well, you've graduated. You've got Type 2 diabetes, young man.'"

Experts have speculated that Hanks' fluctuating weight for his many different roles may have lead to this condition. Many of us have experienced such yo-yo body weight throughout our lives, so could we be pre-diabetic?
