HIGH ON HELPING
Forget bucket lists. Longtime Habitat for Humanity volunteer Martha Cole is just as passionate about building a better world as she is about seeing the world. That doesn't mean she hasn't done some pretty amazing things, too. Whether it's hiking the tallest mountain in the world outside the Himalayas or completing dozens of triathlons, including the grueling Ironman, she's made a lot of her dreams come true.
But she says she wouldn't feel very good about herself if she wasn't also making a difference in the world around her. That's why even today, at the age of 76, you can find her most days nailing down shingles to roofs under the sweltering Florida sun. See why she believes living a life of balance is the best gift you can give yourself and society.
