ANDREA KREMER WINS GROWING BOLDER INSPIRATION AWARD
SPECIAL HONOR AS 300 ATHLETES COMPETE, SETTING A DOZEN WORLD RECORDS

What is Growing Bolder all about? Overcoming obstacles, pursuing passions and proving it's never too late to follow your dreams.

Andrea Kremer, legendary journalist, reporter for HBO and NBC and new member of U.S. Masters Swimming, is a role model for athletes of all ages and abilities, and has just been presented with the Growing Bolder Inspiration Award.

“I’m thrilled to receive this award, especially when you look around and see the amazing men and women who are competing next to me,” says Kremer. “It's about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. I personally love challenges and encourage everyone to get out of their complacency, to step outside their comfort zone. And of course, to always remember that age doesn't matter.”

Kremer competed along with 300 other athletes at the 2011 Rowdy Gaines Masters Classic, hosted by three-time Olympic champion and Growing Bolder TV contributor Rowdy Gaines.

“Andrea is a great recipient of the Growing Bolder Inspiration Award because she’s not afraid to fail. She’s not afraid to take risks and put herself out there. Here's a lady who makes her living on camera and has to look perfect every single week,” says Gaines. “To let her hair down, so to speak, and to be exposed in so many different ways here on this pool deck, to swim in competition with cameras everywhere when she has never done more than recreation swimming -- that’s inspiring. That’s Growing Bolder.”

Growing Bolder is the official media partner of U.S. Masters Swimming and the 2011 Rowdy Gaines Masters Classic, and is producing exclusive videos from the event, featuring Kremer, Gaines and coverage from the world record swims; the stories will be showcased alongside hundreds of other inspirational videos on GrowingBolder.com.
