Benebell Wen's Holistic Tarot is unusual in that it is geared at both new and experienced tarot readers. It contains a wealth of information about the cards, but also reading for others, and setting up one's practice.

- So over the manic pixie dream girl? Prepare to roll your eyes about the minimalist pixie dream girl. Or,you know, pre-packaged "girls" of any kind.
- What it's like to be white.
- Exploring the narrative possibilities of a networked life.
- Busting common copyright myths.
- The marital surname debate. I'm so glad Drew was reasonable, and I didn't have to deal with this. We're both Mara-McKays, and it's awesome.
- A thoughtful post about slut-shaming in Playboy? In other news, Hell now boasts a ski resort.
- An interview with Gay Talese, a master of old school profiles. Is the format intended to be ironic?
- Heather Reisman doesn't sell books, she sells taste.
- Even in academia, women are more likely than men to end up in unstable low-paying positions.
- Are we too hard on high profile people who say and do terrible things? Maybe? I don't know, I kind of agree with Daniel Engber about the Lehrer case being "brightly colored fungus sprouting from a permeating rot." It's not as uncommon as it should be. Thoughts?
