In case you missed it!

Better Schools Kentucky (BSK) is the political arm (also known as a Political Action Committee or "PAC") for JCTA. They use member dues and volunteers to endorse and support candidates during elections. During this year's election season, many members expressed objections to the committee's selections, especially that of Jason Nemes, Representative for House District 33. Not only was his voting record in favor of charter schools and the "sewer bill," but BSK further failed to withdraw their endorsement for Nemes after it was discovered he shared his Republican database login credentials with the leader of the Tea Party who led the #NoJCPSTaxHike petition, potentially undermining funding for JCPS.

Message from Ivonne Rovira:
"As the great labor leader Joe Hill said: Don't mourn, organize! Were you unhappy with Jason Nemes' endorsement? I'm through with complaining; I'm running to be on Better Schools Kentucky. President Brent McKim nominates the BSK board members. So I hope you will encourage Brent to nominate me, so that the board can elect me. My platform below is simple. Please sign the petition if you agree that we should NEVER endorse someone who supported the sewer bill and if you believe that YOU, the members, should decide our endorsements!"
