I am writing to encourage you to attend our 2021 Annual General Meeting.

Interested people and new members will be warmly welcomed
While the passage of the End of Life Choices (Voluntary Assisted Dying) Bill was obviously a great achievement, our work will continue for some time yet. An implementation period of 18 months has been set by the Premier. Lisa Caswell is the Manager of the Implementation Team, and we are very fortunate to have her as our AGM Guest Speaker. Lisa will talk about the role of the Implementation Team and give us some indication of progress. We expect that, given our 20 or so years of hard work and activism towards achieving VAD in Tasmania, DwDTas will be able to make a significant contribution towards the implementation process.
After the first three years of VAD operation a review will be conducted and any issues which emerge can then be addressed. DwDTas will also play a part in this. In the more immediate future, we hope to be able to offer workshops to the general public on end of life planning
The DwDTas Committee has valued your support to this point and trusts that you will help to maintain our efforts in this vital work by renewing your membership.
