25 YEARS! THE ALL KILLER NO FILLER CONTENT OF ARENA HOMME+ NOW COMES PRE-PACKED IN PERFECT (AS IN GENUINELY AMAZING) SUPERBOOK FORM. BEN KELWAY, LUCY KUMARA MOORE AND EVERYONE WHO EVER WORKED MAGIC ON THIS MAGAZINE HAVE MADE A VERY, VERY GOOD BOOK!
When good design gets great. Current Arena Homme+ art director Ben Kelway made this book. Designed it and published it. And it's excellent. It's fabulous as a book. It's just as good as an object to have anywhere near you. Mega impressive!
Same book. Different cover (photo). There is just one cover but it's designed to turn and fold four ways. First pic at the top of this newsletter by Willy Vanderperre and Olivier Rizzo. This, above, is Judy Blame by Juergen Teller. And there are cover photos by David Sims and Alasdair McLellan. But don't panic, one purchase buys them all :)
There are 600 pages! Impossible choices. Randomly, Toby McFarlane Pond's Concorde from Issue 7 and Terry Richardson's fairly rare men's fashion from Issue 8. Would not have guessed either of them correctly. Fortunately there is an index.
It is endlessly rewarding. Things you never knew or just forgot or are so pleased to see again. Alasdair McLellan and Guido from 2005.
It is a MONUMENT to men's fashion. Details on the left hand page by Mel Bles and Max Pearmain. Mood on the right by Steven Klein and Karl Templer.
And art direction. M/M (Paris) left. The New World (right). We cannot begin to summarise and document the editors and art directors, fashion editors, writers and photographers and stylists that have contributed to Arena Homme+ over a quarter of a century - besides, that is what the book is for! Lucy Kumara Moore has interviewed twenty or so key creative figures and those transcripts provide the text. It is very engaging. Hours already spent compulsively reading them. You need to set aside at least a fortnight for this book!
That's the Alasdair cover on the top by the way. To repeat you don't need to buy all four - you get four covers with each book. But if you do buy all four - you won't need a step ladder to change any light bulbs.
You must know by now that it's brilliant. We mean, REALLY GOOD. So order it up on the button below. And if you want to save the planet from air freight shipping - good - there are copies in Dover Street Market London, New York, Los Angeles and Ginza, Tokyo on the official launch date of the 30th January.
NEW YORK FASHION WEEK SAVE THE DATE! THE NEW IDEA BOOK IS MICA BY ALASTAIR MCKIMM. IT LAUNCHES AT DSMNY WITH A SIGNING AND DRINKS ON MONDAY FEBRUARY 10TH.
Just showing you the cover. The packet. And the sticker. This is next week's newsletter and New York Fashion Week's DSMNY launch. You'll have to wait. However... there are... two buttons below and two very attractive options.
