woman with laptop

In our recent story on the privacy risks of using technology, we called out some of Google's products as potential privacy leaks. But Google also has some excellent tools you might not be familiar with that help preserve your privacy. Here are five tools you should be using:

  1. Ads Preference Manager: lets you opt out of targeted ads based on sites you visit
  2. Keep My Opt Outs: provides a one-step, persistent opt-out of ad personalization
  3. Me on the Web: helps you get notified when things like your name or email address show up on a Website
  4. Photo Locations: opt out of geolocation for photos on Google+ and Picasa Web Albums
  5. Wi-Fi tracking: coming this fall, block Google's ability to pinpoint your location using Wi-Fi

Find out how to check your settings and make sure your privacy is protected in our story on Techlicious.
