A Note from the Director

It is really hard to believe that I am already writing the April newsletter. That means that the school year is almost over. It has gone so fast this year! We are thankful that the weather is turning more spring like and we can enjoy the playground with our friends.

There is a lot going on this month here at the preschool. We will celebrate Week of the Young Child (April 16-20). This is an international celebration of early childhood programs, children and families. I hope that you can join us for our Brown Bag lunches on Wednesday and/or Thursday that week. See your child's teacher for details on time and location. There are also plans for some school spirit activities that week. Check out the information later in the newsletter!

We also like to celebrate Earth Week here at the Preschool. If anyone is interested in helping us plant our gardens, please let me know. We will also observe caterpillars as they turn into butterflies. God's creation is amazing and we want to celebrate all that He has created.

We wish you all a fun, safe, and memorable Spring Break. We can't wait to hear all the stories of travel, fun at home, and much more when the children return. We have 7 weeks of school to go and we are going to make each and every day fun!

Parent Council is looking for some parents to help with planting our gardens in May. Please let Melissa know if you are interested in helping. Moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas are all welcome to help.

Some local elementary schools are gaining some wonderful parent volunteers next year, but that means we are graduating some families who have been a part of parent council for several years. We are in need of new people to help us for next year. If you would like to be on Parent Council for the 2018-2019 school year, please contact Amy Donovan at or talk to Melissa in the Preschool Office.

The Charlotte Rescue Mission, founded in 1938, is a leader in providing free Christian-based residential recovery programs that help people struggling with the disease of addiction achieve long-term sobriety, find employment and stable housing, and restore and build healthy relationships. During the month of April, Good Shepherd Church will be collecting donations of toothpaste, men’s deodorant and triple blade disposable razors. This is a wonderful way to serve God through serving others. The preschool family is invited to participate if you would like to.
