Ryuichi Sakamoto + Taylor Deupree
Today (July 10th) is the Japanese release date of the debut album from Ryuichi Sakamoto and Taylor Deupree. Released on the Commmons label in Japan, "Disappearance" will see worldwide release on 12k on September 3rd. Born out of sessions at Sakamoto's studio in New York, "Disappearance" is restrained, quiet and textural.
Also to be released on September 3rd is the follow-up full-length album to "Drape" from Moskitoo. "Mitosis" sublime and subtly poppy and shows great maturation from Moskitoo as a songwriter.
Seaworthy + Taylor Deupree
The latest albums from Illuha and Seaworthy + Taylor Deupree and Marsen Jules are providing many with a sonically rich 2013. Illuha will be joining Ryuichi Sakamoto and Taylor Deupree for a live concert at YCAM in Yamaguchi, Japan on July 26th and they are very busy working on their studio follow-up to "Shizuku" which is due out in early 2013. Seaworthy and Taylor Deupree's "Wood, Winter, Hollow" CD is almost sold out. There are only 3 copies left in the 12k shop, though more are available via other distributors and shops.
