Our first live webinar in the series will take place on Wednesday Sept 30th @2pm-3pm and will feature Ms. Shelley Gilbert:
Shelley is the Chair of the Windsor Essex Anti-Human Trafficking Action Group (WEFIGHT) providing support and advocacy to survivors of domestic and international human trafficking of forced labour/debt bondage, forced marriage and women trafficking into the sex industry.  She has conducted training and workshops for both NGOs and law enforcement as to the identification and provision of service to survivors across the country.  She has presented models of collaboration, policy gaps and best practice approaches at national and provincial conferences.   She was awarded the Inspirational Leader Award by the Ontario Association of Social Workers in 2014.
Shelley can answer your questions relating to:
  • Advocacy, policy and human trafficking
  • The experience of working with internationally and domestically trafficked people
  • Social work or training to work with human trafficking survivors

Caroline is a skydiving instructor who has contributed tremendously to the fight against human trafficking, and  has been awarded the “Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal”. Caroline is also a survivor of human trafficking and was trafficked for 8 years through strip bars along a well-known highway corridor.
Webinar 3: Friday, January 29th (2016) 10:30am-11:30am
Featuring: Jolene Heida
Jolene is a Registered Clinical Social Worker and practicing psychotherapist with over 15 years of combined experience in the areas of human trafficking and sexual exploitation and has worked with survivors of both international and domestic trafficking for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation.
Webinar 4: Friday, March 25th at 10am-11am
Featuring: Lisa
Lisa is a survivor of human trafficking, an advocate, a volunteer and a mentor. She is the membership chair for the London Anti-Human Trafficking Committee where she helps train new members about human trafficking and gives other educational presentations about human trafficking at various venues throughout southern Ontario.
