EPA congratulates its Scholars!

Participants selected for 6th EPA Summer School

This year, EPA Summer School will be organised in Brussels for the first time. After a rigorous selection procedure, 27 Scholars were chosen to participate in this event, on the topic of “ABCs of Psychotherapy.” Congratulations to all Scholars!
The 2016 Summer School will be led by a renowned faculty and will include plenary sessions, clinical workshops and role play sessions. Moreover, Scholars will have the unique opportunity to take part in simulation sessions organised by Maudsley Simulation, UK’s first simulation training centre focusing on mental health.

Working as part of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust since 2014, Maudsley Simulation has successfully developed a range of new simulation training courses. EPA is pleased to include one of these courses in the 2016 Summer School programme.

European Psychiatry in the news

EPA Journal article selected as editorial

An article that will appear in the August 2016 issue of European Psychiatry, "Early-life metal exposure and schizophrenia: A proof-of-concept study using novel tooth-matrix biomarkers" was featured in an editorial entitled "Has the Tooth Fairy entered the realm of science?" in the medical journal Science Translational Medicine.

The paper explores the relationship between metal exposure and critical neurodevelopmental periods in psychosis. It can be accessed through the European Psychiatry website and is free to download until 31 December 2016.

Do you have new data to present from a recent study on schizophrenia?

Submit a Poster or Oral Communication Abstract for EPA 2017 Florence!

Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders is just one of 48 abstract topics featured at the Congress. View the list of abstract topics and make your submissions by 6 October 2016.

EPA expresses its solidarity and condolences to the family and friends of the victims of the recent violent events in Europe and elsewhere.

World Brain Day 2016

Join EPA #UnderTheUmbrella on 22 July

On the occasion of the World Brain Day on 22 July 2016, EPA supports the “Together Under The Umbrella” Campaign, initiated by the European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA) with the aim of raising awareness on brain disorders and how they affect lives.
This campaign, which is supported by many patient and professional organisations (EPA, EBC, Gamian, EPF), provides a platform for people with neurological disorders to share their experiences and stories, thereby building a greater understanding of these conditions among the wider public.
To build on its political support, EFNA is now asking supporters to post a picture of themselves under an umbrella on social media using the hashtag #UnderTheUmbrella and linking to the campaign’s online hub, where key messages, interesting facts, campaign resources and more details are available.

For more information please visit the Under the Umbrella campaign website
