The deadline for applications (20 August 2014) for the EPA Gaining Experience Programme is approaching!

Hurry up to apply for short observership placements that are currently offered by our partner institutions from Switzerland, Israel, UK and Germany. This exciting opportunity will allow you to broaden your skills and knowledge, and become familiar with different mental health systems in Europe.

In addition, successful applicants will be granted scholarships from the EPA (up to 625 EUR per participant).

Mental Health in People with ID in Europe

The EPA Section of Mental Health in Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is proud to announce its first Educational Event that will take place in Berlin on 30-31 October 2014.

The Event will bring together expert psychiatrists from across Europe and will equip you with knowledge on the presentation and management of mental disorders in people with Intellectual Disabilities (ID).

The Section encourages all psychiatrists to attend what promises to be a stimulating and informative Educational Event of the newest Section of EPA.   Programme - Registration

First-hand feedback

Wishing to share with you their exciting experience of attending the EPA Academia Summer School 2014 on Comorbidity between mental and physical disorders, the school participants have written an article From the stork’s nest: Young psychiatrists spread their wings and fly.

Further Development of EPA Strategies and Strategic Action Plan 2015-2016

Creation of Standing Committees and Task Forces

In order to continue to further work with EPA's strategies delineated and developed during previous years, a Strategic Action Plan proposal for years 2015-2016 was made by EPA President Elect Prof. Wolfgang Gaebel, formulated with the President Prof. Danuta Wasserman and Secretary General Dr. Julian Beezhold, as well as with the Executive Committee;  the EPA Board is putting in place various groups which will be responsible for specific missions in the coming years:
