In memoriam Pedro Montellano

1968-2015

EPA mourns the loss of Pedro Montellano, GAMIAN-Europe President and EBC Vice-President.

He was a strong advocate for mental illness awareness and education through his leadership in several worldwide mental health organisations and alliances.

A friend to many, Pedro was a dedicated and constructive partner for EPA in our mission to improve psychiatry and mental health care in Europe. He will be greatly missed.

Condolences can be sent to inmemoriampedro@gamian.eu.

World Mental Health Day

10 October 2015

October 10 was World Mental Health Day, which was initiated as an annual activity of the World Federation for Mental Health in 1992. This year, the initiative was based on the theme “Dignity in mental health”.

EPA endorsed the initiative and its theme, which are both fully in line with the Declaration on Quality of Psychiatry and Mental Health Care in Europe adopted by EPA in 2013.

Please visit the EPA website for more information about the WFMH and this year’s initiative.

European Psychiatry

2014 Journal Impact Factor and Editor's Choice

The impact factor for the EPA’s official journal, European Psychiatry, is 3.439 (2014), representing an increase from the previous year (3.210 in 2013).

European Psychiatry contains high-level, original scientific articles, short communications and editorials. EPA members receive a free electronic subscription to the journal.

Join EPA as a member today to receive full access to the journal, and benefit from many other advantages.

And for those who aren't yet members, the Editor's Choice feature, accessible through the website's homepage, provides 6 months of promotional access to 1 article from each issue published in 2015, in addition to the Guidance Papers. This gives a great preview of one of the many benefits of being an EPA member.
