Gaining Experience Programme

Congratulate the selected applicants!

EPA warmly congratulates the 4 highly motivated early career psychiatrists selected for our Gaining Experience Programme:
  • Bhathika Devinda Perera (United Kingdom)
  • Barbara Remberk (Poland)
  • Kamala Yelmar Talibova (Azerbaijan)
  • Aleksandar Savic (Croatia)
The programme offers short observership placements in various psychiatric institutions across Europe, allowing a broadening of clinical, research and teaching skills and knowledge, and a familiarisation with different mental health systems in Europe.

Some placements will start in 2014, while others will be done in early 2015. For more information, visit the programme website.

EPA 2015 Vienna

Announcing the EPA Forum


The 1st annual EPA Forum, organised by EPA President Professor Danuta Wasserman and EPA President Elect Professor Wolfgang Gaebel, along with the EPA Ambassador Committee, will take place on Saturday, 28 March 2015 in Vienna, as part of the 23rd European Congress of Psychiatry.
 
This Forum will address the topic of "Improving Mental Health and Mental Health Care across Europe." It will bring together EPA Individual and Council of NPA members, other national psychiatric associations in Europe and European stakeholders and policy makers in the field of Mental Health and Mental Health Care.

The aim is to present and discuss matters of European importance from the perspective of EPA.

Participation is free and open to EPA Members that have pre-registered. EPA Members will receive more information via email.

World Mental Health Day 2014

Athens Declaration - “Living with Schizophrenia”


Along with 10 other organisations, the EPA co-signed the World Mental Health Day (WMHD) 2014 Athens Declaration on "Living with Schizophrenia."

The Declaration was presented to the participants of the International Congress of the World Federation for Mental Health on WMHD, 10 October, at the University of Athens Aula.

The declaration highlights key facts about Schizophrenia and urges a variety of actions. Read the full text.

mPIVAS Project

Cascade Courses throughout Europe

Following the success of its psychoeducational course offered at EPA 2014 Munich, the mPIVAS project is organising cascade courses throughout Europe in order to train local psychiatrists from partner countries on all aspects of antipsychotic-induced side effects and the use of the PsyLOG mobile application.

In total 8 cascade courses will be organised before the end of the year. For more information, visit the mPIVAS website.
