Great Nutrition Resources
Tips & Resources for People During Cancer Treatment
Do you sometimes get questions from patients under treatment and you're not sure you have the most updated answer? Don't forget to check our DPG website for great answers to common questions! Questions are organized by treatment type. Here are a few examples:
- Is there a specialized diet recommended for people who have had the Whipple procedure for pancreatic cancer?
- Is it safe to take antioxidant supplements during chemotherapy and radiation therapy? Does this concern extend to foods containing high levels of antioxidants, such as an orange or orange juice, which contain a high amount of vitamin C?
- During treatment, I go back and forth between being constipated and having diarrhea, but nothing normal in between. Is there any food that can help both of these problems?
- Is there anything that can be changed in the diet to bring up white blood cell count?
