Council on Future Practice Nominations

The Council on Future Practice (CFP) is now accepting nominations for (2) positions in the 2017-2018 program year, each with a 3-year term of service. Consider nominating yourself or a colleague to serve on the CFP. The CFP has identified the following practice gaps in its membership and is requesting experts in the following focus areas:

  • Clinical Nutrition Management 
  • School Nutrition 
  • Population Health 
  • Nutrigenomics 
  • Interprofessional Practice 
  • Interprofessional Education 
  • Simulations 
  • Outcomes Research 
  • Informatics

Public Policy Updates
Attend the Academy’s Obesity Advocacy Day on February 27, 2017

The Academy will host its second quarterly advocacy day on Monday, February 27 in Washington, D.C. in collaboration with partner organizations from the Obesity Care and Advocacy Network (OCAN). The event will include a Congressional briefing, Hill visits and an ANDPAC hosted reception focused on obesity.

Leadership Approaches to Defending and Advancing Prevention and Public Health
We wanted to share with you a webinar that you might find interesting. The American Public Health Association, Prevention Institute, Public Health Institute, and Trust for America's Health are sponsoring an upcoming webinar, Leadership Approaches to Defending and Advancing Prevention and Public Health. Public Policy Workshop 2017 Registration – Open!
The Public Policy Workshop 2017 registration and housing information is now available. An email will be sent to all Academy members on Monday, February 13, 2017. The message will encourage members to join fellow RDNs, NDTRs and students at the Academy’s Public Policy WorkshopJune 25 to 26 in Washington, D.C.

Plan to attend this year’s workshop, the “go to” event, where you will sharpen your communication skills, advocate for the profession and develop high-level personal and professional relationships. The updated program features:
  • A format that focuses on current issues (1/2 day) and a full day of Hill visits
