Patient Resources on our Website

Did you know that the ONDPG website has recipes for your patients? Like this one for okra soup that soothes painful swallowing. It was very popular on the listserve!

1-2 cups cooked orzo or fine pasta
1 Pound of okra

3. After boiling, remove all okra to avoid small seeds

ON DPG Small Research Grant Award

For a third year, the ON DPG has awarded a small research grant of $2,500 to support the work of ON DPG members conducting studies in the field of oncology nutrition. The research awards committee evaluated several competitive research proposals and would like to congratulate the winners of the 2016-17 ON DPG small research award, Dr. Anna Arthur and Sylvia Crowder MS, RDN.  Their research is titled “Improving dietary patterns in head and neck cancer survivors to optimize disease outcomes and supportive care: a pilot/feasibility intervention study”.  We can’t wait to see the results of this important work!

If you’re interested in applying for the 2017-18 ON DPG Small Research Grant, please visit the ON DPG website for information regarding the grant guidelines, the application, a list of FAQ and the scoring rubric https://www.oncologynutrition.org/member-benefits/awards/research-grant/

ON DPG Reimbursement Representative

Do you have an interest in reimbursement for oncology nutrition?  If the answer to this question is yes, then the ON DPG has the perfect position for you!  The position would require about four hours per month (or more depending on ON DPG member needs).
The Reimbursement Representative plays an integral role serving as a resource to other members within the DPG to answer questions about coding and coverage and to connect with their affiliate reimbursement representative to support advocacy work for MNT services.

If you are interested or would like more information about the position please feel free to contact Heidi Ganzer at hganzer@mchsi.com
