SEC'S NEWS

Agenda is now available for the District Council Plus on 12 March at The Chase Hotel, Cheltenham at 7.30pm.

Speakers include the excellent Amanda Watkin who is the RIBI Membership Chair.  

NEW MEMBERS

DATABASE IS LIVE

Thanks to the hard work of Martyn Harwood and his team the Membership Database Extension in now up and running.

Very detailed guidance is on the members only section of the District website.

FESTIVAL IN CHELTENHAM!


 
The second Festival of Rotary is on 4 May in the centre of Cheltenham.


 

    



It coincides with the Cheltenham Jazz Festival so the town will be buzzing.

26 stalls will be available at £20 each. Why not team up with another Club if your Club is working on a joint project or supporting the same activity or cause?

AROUND OUR CLUBS

Nailsea & Backwell with other Clubs, have been supporting the Health Improvement Project in Zanzibar.  
 
The focus now has moved to Kivunge hospital where a doctor and his partner are spending a year, providing clinical care, training, and creating an A&E department.  

At the same time work is in hand on renovation of staff housing and the operating block plus building and equipping a Primary Health Care Unit.

 SPORTS UPDATE

First round of skittles has been completed with league winners and runners-up going through to the quarter finals of the Challenge Cup and the Plate.
The finals will be held at Slimbridge British Legion on 10 May.

It is hoped that the District Bowls competition can be restarted. Contact Peter Holl to get involved.

GRANTS STILL AVAILABLE


£1,354 remains available for District Simplified Grants.

When it’s gone, it’s gone for this Rotary year so be quick!  
 
The Matching Grant application deadline is 31 March.
