SEC'S NEWS


This month is Rotary World Understanding Month

John Minhinick, RIBI National President is visiting the District from 26th to 28th February.

A few places remain at the Farewell Dinner on 7 March for the excellent GSE Team from D7730. Their full programme is on the District website.

The next District Council Plus will be 12 March at The Chase Hotel, Cheltenham at 7.30pm.

 District Assembly will be on 27 April.
  

NEW MEMBERS

John Milbourn has joined Bristol.
 
Christopher Loveday, Emma Faramarzi and Martin Groombridge are all now members of Swindon

Cathryn Lacey and Gordon Hazelton were recently inducted by Worcester Vigornia.

Great to have them all in the Rotary family.

THE FUTURE IS GREEN!


 
The first Your Green Future event this year takes place on March 6 & 7th at the Bristol and Bath Science Park at Emerson’s Green.


Approx. 500 teenage school children will attend from 15+ schools with at least 15 exhibitors (including Airbus and the National Apprenticeship Service.)

 

The second event will take place on 6/7 June in Worcester.

AROUND OUR CLUBS

Chipping Sodbury, Fishponds & Downend, Keynsham, Keynsham Chew Valley, Kingswood and Yate & District are pulling together to raise funds for End Polio Now.

The Temperance 7 will perform on Saturday 23 March at 7.45pm at the Hexagon Theatre,  Kings Oak Academy, Kingswood, Bristol.  Licensed bar.

 ROTAKIDS PLANT FOR FUTURE!

A new Rotakids Club has been formed by Swindon Old Town at Goddard Park Community Primary School.

This is building on a successful tree planting project at the school last year.

The next step is for some of the children involved to set up an Interact Club next year at the secondary school they are joining.

WORLD AFFAIRS SCHOLARS


 Congratulations to Bethan Walters, Cora Edwards, Will Blackaby, Rebekah Coates who have been selected to represent D1100 at the 36th Rotary Youth World Affairs Seminar between June 15th – 21st at Carroll University, Waukesha, Wisconsin.
