SOMETHING TO SHARE

"I would like to think that the pioneering days of Rotary have only just begun. There are just as many new things to be done as ever there were. Kaleidoscopic changes are taking place, many of them without our will. Even to hang on to the fringe of this fast-changing world is about all most of us can do. Rotary simply must continue to pioneer or be left in the rear of progress."

Paul Harris said that and it is perhaps more true today than at any other time. We must change or get left behind!!

Thanks to Allan Berry for passing on.

SEC'S SPOT

District Secretary's notices appear here, and like the District Diary, are on the District Website

District Assembly is 28 April at The Chase Hotel, Brockworth. A great opportunity to find out what is going on for 2012 / 13 and to share ideas and best practice with other Clubs.

FLYING THE FLAG FOR
OUR FESTIVAL

The countdown is now on for Conference. Looks like it is going to be a fantastic and very varied weekend with something for everyone.
Lots going on with the Festival of Rotary on the Sunday which has been well promoted locally including high profile banners in the centre of Bristol.

Is your Club ready to take advantage of the opportunities that the day may create?

HATS OFF TO WORCESTER CLUBS!

On Easter Monday the Worcester Clubs pulled together to organise a children's Easter Bonnet parade.

Thin turn out because of the rain but the idea was great and attracted press coverage (as well as the Mayor)

Is this an idea that your Club could adopt, may be with neighbouring Clubs?

LOOKING FOR FELLOWSHIP?

There are dozens of Rotary Fellowships – on any number of interests.

One very active Rotary Fellowship in D1100 is the International Caravanning Fellowship of Rotarians’.

Caravanning Rotarians from D1100 enjoy Rotary fellowship throughout the UK, abroad and within our own District.

This year, there are rallies planned at Cirencester in July; on the very edge of our District at Devizes, in early September; and in The Forest of Dean in mid September

Contact Derek Rogers to get involved.

WANTED!

The Com/Voc team are trying to locate what could be a significant number of sports trophies lurking around the District.

These would be various golf, bowls, skittles  snooker etc trophies that were played for in the past.

If any Clubs or Rotarians have any news of these Ken Corrigan would appreciate hearing where they can be collected from

RYLA 2103

Places are going fast for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards course next year.

If your Club isn't involved and would like a speaker about this brilliant programme to improve the leadership skills of young people aged 16 - 18 then contact Alan Martin.

RULES CHANGING

At this weekend's RIBI Conference in Bournemouth all the resolutions to modernise the way Rotary operates at a national level in this country were passed with substantial majorities.

These changes will be enacted over the coming months to allow them to be implemented on 1 July 2013.
Please note that the latest date for copy for the next District eNewsletter is 25 April. Send your contributions to the District PR & Communications Team.  www.rotary1100.org
