This takes Portishead's total to three.  Well done to them, especially Shonaugh Evans, on leading the way in D1100.

Brilliant to have such young members of the Rotary Family.

Rotarians around the world raised and gave a massive approx. £71m in 2011 / 12 to our Foundation.

This is the second largest total ever and, despite the recession, nearly 4% up on 2010 / 11.

We in D1100 certainly did our bit achieving 102.5% of the Bill Gates $200m challenge to help End Polio Now.

Each Rotarian is asked to give or raise the equivalent of $100 to the Annual Programmes Fund every year (Every Rotarian, Every Year). In 2011 /12 our District acheived an average of just over $67. This is the highest figure in recent years.

Well done to Jill Johnston and every Club's Foundation Officer for leading this.

Thanks for your part in this fantastic achievement which locally and around the world makes such a difference to so many people.

Let's see if together we can do even better this year.

Don't forget that your Club can directly get some of this money back by applying for grants.

An excellent new website has been launched to help us End Polio Now.

The site has various news items and a useful sliding scale which shows how Rotary, and partners, has helped to combat polio.

Why not include a link to it on your Club's own website and any other communications you issue about Polio eradication?
DG David says a huge 'thank you' to all the clubs who have so generously donated £2760 to date towards the appeal to send two teams to this year's District Disabled Sports.

If  your Club would like to make a donation, please send a cheque to Richard Fox the District Treasurer.

The final of the above will be held on 12 Oct in the Great Hall of Bristol Grammar School.

Always a great evening.

Tickets are £10 and can be obtained from Derek James  or Ernie Bussell.

Information about the Young Musican Competition accross D1100 and nationally is here.

Why not shout about and share your Club's successes?
