Medical Director Note
Its not too late to reply for this years AGM. Please let Lindy know if you can join us.
CHSA are holding a series of meetings looking at formulating a plan for Mt Barker hospital and Strathalbyn hospital.
Last week a session with clinicians was held. 4 themes were explored, Emergency Department, Obstetrics and Paediatrics, Medical Services and Surgical / Anaesthetics. There was a wide range of issues raised with emphasis on Clinical governance, Infrastructure requirements and the need to define Model of Care. (What should we do, how would that happen and what new things would be needed). It was agreed that there was good will towards change but some short term "wins " would be needed for the clinicians to believe change is possible and to stay engaged. A report should be available at the end of this year for further discussion by community, hospital staff and local health providers. I will have it added to this newsletter when available.
We are holding our GP After Hours dinner this Thursday and hoping for better weather than last time which we cancelled.
I hope to see as many of you as possible, even if its just for the dinner!!
