Medical Director Note

Looking forward to our final CPD for 2016 with speakers from Adelaide Paediatrics.

It will be a semi-formal evening with lots of chances to Network with the new visiting Paediatrician to the area Dr Danika Coates. Dr Danika Coates will be based in Mt Barker 2 days a week from next year. Also we will hear from Paediatric Physiotherapist, Melanie Jeffries and Occupational Therapist Natalie Lang.

The shift of GPcare to Mt Barker hospital in the evenings is going well. Thank you to the GP’s involved and the Mt Barker Hospital staff.

If any GP’s would like to now join the roster please contact Jo Teakle.

On a sad note, I wish to inform you of the passing of Dr Peter Chapman, PMO of CHSA on the weekend after a short illness.

Peter has been with Country Health for some years in this role and worked tirelessly for the community. He was always accessible and willing to address issues in a fair and timely manner.

We pass on our condolences to his family and also to Country Health colleagues.

In lieu of Christmas cards this year Summit Health has made a donation to KickStart for Kids

KickStart for Kids was founded in 2011 on the belief that every child, regardless of their social or economic background, should have an equal chance. Breakfast, lunch and mentoring programs are the core programs that are run in South Australian schools, however, they also provide basic clothing and healthcare needs.

KickStart for Kids supports over 300 South Australian Schools, providing around 40,000 breakfasts and 10,000 lunches per week. Our donation would equate to 75 breakfasts being provided!

We take this opportunity to wish
all our members, staff and patients a safe and
enjoyable Christmas

We received an overwhelming response to the #It's in the Bag with a total of 259 bags being donated. It has been wonderful to see such an outpouring of support from the community for such a wonderful cause—noting that these bags have been filled with some pretty awesome products that people have clearly spent a great deal of care, time and money to pull together. Well done and thank you to everyone involved and a special mention to Lindy at Summit Health for coordinating the role that the Summit Health Centre has played

Next and last eUpdate this year will be published 22 December 2016
