Dermatology and Skin Cancer Update

Dr Simon Khoury will provide an update on new treatment strategies and options for common dermatoses including eczema and psoriasis, diagnostic features of some common dermatoses as well as some of those more rare, and revisit both indications and contraindications for common dermatological treatments.
Dr Warren will then provide insight into dermoscopy and what’s new with skin cancers.

Chronic Conditions in General Practice
Delivered by the SA&NT RACGP faculty, this full day, interactive session will explore the prevention and management of diabetes, child & adult obesity, as well as sleep apnoea. GPs will also build on skills in positive health coaching that is applicable to any chronic condition.
The presenters for the day include:
Dr Sanjeev Khurana, an experienced paediatric surgeon with a major interest in obesity, with his colleagues from other disciplines including dietetics. and obesity management.
Jayne Lehman, a popular credentialed diabetes educator will explore the barriers for diabetic patients achieving glycaemic targets, and effective solutions. Lastly, as Occupational Therapist & Health Coach will end the day with an experiential workshop on working effectively with patients who live with chronic health problems.

Advance Practical Workshop for Practice Nurses

Australia Healthy Weight Week

Australia Healthy Weight Week (AHWW) is an initiative of the Dietitians Association of Australia, raising awareness of the importance of achieving and maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. Events are held in February each year to help promote this message and encourage people to see an Accredited Practising Dietitian to assist with food, nutrition and lifestyle management.
